I was with kilo comp, mostly 2nd plt, from Dec.66 through Jan 68. My MOS
was Machine Guns, but carried the radio for a while. I had no idea that this
stuff was on the internet until today. Its always a strange head trip to
go back to these times and memories. In a way I don't like to but am drawn
to it. I'm sure I'm not unique in that sense. I try to remember people and
names but its hard. Thanks very much for the efforts you've put into this.
I too have a few pictures but don't know how to get them on here.

I was a radio operator with 1st Platoon Kilo 3/7 from March 1967 to March
1968. I actually ended my tour as senior Company radio operator. A lot of
the names on Jake Jacovich's photos bring back a lot of memories both good
and some with sadness. One very special friend was Roy M. Wheat listed in
your "In Memory Of...". I had the unfortunate duty of calling in Roy's pickup,
you couldn't call it a medivac. At any rate anyone who happens to read this
and was part of ist Platoon at that time please contact me. I have pictures
that might be of interest. How do I submit them? I also have a Republic of
Viet Nam Flag signed by many of the guys in the unit during the time I was
in Country.

My next door neighbor in Antigo Wisconsin in the '60s was your Corporal
Fred Benishek. I was only 10 in 1969 when Fred was killed in action. I have
vivid memories of Fred before he entered the service and when he came home
from boot camp. While searching the internet for anything that might be connected
to Fred's name I discovered your site. Absolutely wonderful! Congratulations
to all who have made this happen. For me I have always been interested in
learning more about Fred's days in Vietnam. What a great gift for family
and friends of your's to have such a detailed site. The internet does have
value after all. Best wishes to all. Tom Meyer
