Greetings! Thanks to one of your fellow Marines I finally have found this
website...been searching for about 4 months. I am LCpl Steven Bloom's sister
who was in your battalion in Vietnam. I have been trying to touch base with
some of Steve's old h.s. friends and now am reaching out to Marine
friends....Steve had a buddy in Vietnam who wrote my Dad a letter after Steve
was killed...I believe his first name was "Danny"...if you're out there...please
write to me. I was 15 at that time so I do not remember Danny's last name.
I've always longed to learn more about Steve and his time in the Corps and
in Vietnam ...until the internet this has been impossible. I'll love hearing
from anyone. God Bless ALL OF YOU! Sincerely, Brenda

Marines, I'm honored to sign the Kilo 3/7 guest book and place my name
beside other Kilo Marines. I was fortunate to have been the Company Gunny
for Kilo, 3/7 from May 1995 - Sept 1999. I was pleasently suprised and happy
to see that the logo used for this website was adopted during my watch. And
I'm equally glad that it brings all of you (Kilo Brothers) pride and a peace
of mind knowing that your sacrifices have not been in vain or forgotten and
that the "Kilo" spirit still thrives in the 3rd Bn 7th Marines. OOh Rah.
Semper Fi and Semper Kilo. 1stSgt Smith E. (Kilo Gunny).

Gentlemen, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting your website. I had the honor
of commanding Kilo Company 3/7 from Jan 1998 to July 1999. This period included
a short notice deployment to Kuwait, and a 6 month UDP deployment to Okinawa,
Guam, Tinian and Thailand. Though we were never called upon to meet the
challenges and endure the sacrifices that the veterans of WWII, Korea and
Viet Nam experienced, we trained to the standard and example you all set
for us, and I hope we would have made you proud. Kilo Company remains strong
today, and remembers those from the Company who made the ultimate sacrifice.
For example, every quarter, the best Team Leader in the Company is awarded
the Lcpl Jose Jimenez Award for demonstrating strong leadership and tactical
skills. As I used to tell the men, "We stand on the shoulders of giants",
knowing that we could not, and would not falter. We had to live up to the
example of those who went before. Semper Fidelis, and Semper Kilo! Respectfully,
P. C. Schmid

I WAS REFERRED TO YOUR SITE BY SUSAN CROOK ON THE NET, WIFE OF ONE OF
YOUR ALUMNI OF KILO 3/7. I JUST WISH TO SAY HELLO.TO ALL MY GRUNT COMRADES
FROM THE NAM. I SERVED WITH KILO COMPANY, WEAPONS PLATOON , 3RD BATTALION,
3RD REGIMENT, 3RD MARINE DIVISION. WE WERE LOCATED UP ON THE DMZ IN THE
LEATHERNECK SQUARE AREA AROUND CON THIEN, CAM LO, GIO LINH NEAR DONG HA.
WHEN I JOINED KILO IN JULY, 1967 THEY WERE RUNNING OPERATIONS IN THE MOUNTAINS
AROUND THE ROCKPILE AND CAMP CARROLL. THE THIRD MARINES HAD A LOT CONTACT
WITH NVA IN THIS AREA. WE FOUGHT NORTH VIETNAMESE TROOPS MANY TIMES, MORE
SO IN THE SPRING AND SUMMER OF 1968. I WAS WOUNDED ON 21 APRIL 1968 AT ALPHA
3 FORWARD BASE. I RETURNED HOME AUGUST, 1968. I WANT TO TELL YOU ALL THAT
I AM HAPPY THAT YOU HAVE RETURNED SAFELY HOME. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN
AS MEMBERS OF KILO 3/7, ALTHOUGH I DID NOT KNOW THEM, THEY HAVE MY MOST HUMBLE
RESPECT FOR THEIR SACRIFICE FOR HONOR AND COUNTRY. MAY THEY REST IN PEACE.
THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A SOFT SPOT IN MY HEART FOR VIETNAM GRUNTS BOTH MARINE
AND ARMY. WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, THEY WERE ON THE FRONTLINE ENDURING
THE HARDSHIPS OF COMBAT. SEMPER FI, MY FRIENDS AND GOD BLESS. DAVID AROCHA

I was only a small child when this "conflict" was in progress. I remember
the adults being very deeply affected by this tragic war.I would like to
say thank you for the soldiers who can still hear me say it. Thank you for
risking your lives for the greastest country on earth. This is a very nice
website & forum for the surviving soldiers and whomever is responsible
for keeping it up & running gets kudos from me.

I spent 7 months with K3/7 as the Dog Handler. I went on many night patrols
and two operations. 32 years later I am still very proud and happy to have
been part of the best rifle company in Viet Nam. From PFC to CWO4 and 33
years in the Marines.Semper Fi.
