I was machine gunner with Lima 3/7 67-68. One of my saddest memories of
VN was sitting on an AMTRAC off hill 37 listening to KILO CO getting beat
up and waiting for the word from some idiote in HQ to send us in to help.
(July-28-68) By the time the word was sent down and we got there it was too
late. I remember sweeping through the field that Kilo got ambushed in and
slipping on the wet grass and then seeing from hand that it was blood that
we were slipping on. A very sad day, that too many brave men from Kilo did
not return from. I was a good friend of Cpl Knapp who was an office poge(sp)
with Kilo HQ. I went through boot camp with him and always visted him on
hill 37 when I was in from the bush. Has anyone had any recent contact with
him. Any way, its a great site. I was told by the webmaster of the 7th marines
site that a Lima Co site will be starting up soon, hope it's as good as yours

little when I found this site. I hope to hear from anyone who
